In an effort to be more active on LJ (I've been missing my friends in the HP community!!), I'll be adding more posts dealing with my daily, crazy life. Therefore, I'm joining the FO bandwagon so I get to be nosy and know who is reading. Never can be too care these days.... :) Icons and fanfic will still be public but if you think you're up to challenge of hearing me ramble leave me a little comment about yourself please ma'am/sir.

ps: nothing can beat the little rascals

*pokes head in* hiya guys! I know its been..... long time, too long.... since I have been around. I could give you a laundry list of excuses but I won't because that would be boring. But, I am sorry to disappear and I have missed the HP fanfic community greatly. Good News since I've been away - I was nominated for the third year in a row of the r/hr awards held here on LJ. THANK YOU AGAIN SO SO SO [that could go on and on by the way] MUCH! I don't think I'll ever get used to the fact that you wonderful people like what I write. Yet, I've learned to not care about the why and just enjoy it! XD Also, I have been rec'd on the crack broom community on LJ which is another great honor because I've always scrounged around there looking for a good read!

Non-HP life, the roomie I used to complain about has moved out and we both have learned we do much better as just friends and not roomates. Also I'm getting a new vechile - YAY!!!!!!!!! So without further ado, here is a little bit of fluffy goodness for y'all. Please, I hope you enjoy!

Title: Not Dancing
Author: [info]phnxfeather47
Rating: PG13
Genre: Fluff, is it ever
Word Count: 489
AN: I wonder if other fic writers have scrap folders? I was rummaging through mine and hand a handful of bits of a piece about Bill's Wedding from before DH was out. I think I had listened to Michael Buble's Save the Last Dance for Me one too many times. Anyhow, the full fledged fic didn't work out but I liked this part too much to let it go. So... I added a few words here and there to make it cannon. All mistakes are mine, but I had a wonderful friend look it over and she said it was viewable for human eyes.

six children plus six guests equals twelve feet ordered to be on the dance floor... )

I honestly don't know how this got written, especially since the subject I was thinking about didn't even make it into this little... thing... I don't even know what to call it, ha. I've just been thinking a lot about how "too nice" guys and gals get the short end of the stick it seems like. Anyway..... hope you all enjoy.

You used to have morals.

When did you change, you wonder. When did your world change? There used to be a time where you were more naïve, when your goody-two-shoes still held their innocent shine. Homework always got done, drugs were bad and so where the people who did them, and being drunk was simply some far off concept. Sex before marriage was questionable, not to even mention sex before a relationship was unconceivable.

And now, and now… well, you used to have morals.

Your old self would say that you’re headed for hell in a hand basket, while the present self can’t muster up the effort to care. It’ll be a pretty basket you think because all you can say is that you’re only young once. Nice girls, too nice girls finish last. You want to win.

Hey y'all! So it's been really bugging me that no one has fixed Ron's ghost-white face in the new HBP pics when making icons. I do believe other icon makers have done a drastically better job than I have but I had to fix Ron/Ruperts coloring! Thus that led me to making a few more and putting some some icons I have done at some point but never put up.... enjoy. Take if you wanna. Comments would be awesome.

Scanning the flist, I was looking at the awesome [info]shyshutterbug 's meme post of doom and came across the interrobang. I wiki'ed it and then wanted to know if there was anything for the Daddy!Ron which lead me to the exclamation point and one of the single greatest lines I have ever read....

Occasionally, the "!" notation will describe a physical appearance thought to trigger certain reactions, as in shirtless!Vaughn from Alias - Wikipedia

LMAO. :) Made my day.

I was however dissapointed that no one had come up with a name yet, so here and now I'm hereby dubbing it the excladjective. Go and prosper, hee.

As I've said, I've gearing up to be more active on LJ and so with that I've finally checked my hotmail email. Ta da! Squee-ing again to see an email for the R/Hr Awards Nomination!!!!! OMG - OMG - Oh - My - God!! Last year I was in total shock and this year (still in shock) I feel so utterly heartwarmed and honored to be nominated again. It validates it ya know, not just a fluke thing. To my surpise, I was nominated twice - He Wasn't got one for Best Alternative Universe and Self-Restraint got one for Best Ron Depiction (ah, in character nods are the best!). But I had to shoot back a reply today saying that Self-Restraint was written last year (when thanks to the awesome belovedgranger) it was bidding in the best kiss category. So voting isn't open yet but I just wanted to say a big, hearty THANK YOU to the person(s) who nominated me. Truly, I appreciate it. I wish I could buy you another one of the kickbutt snowballs I had yesterday!

With all the good news and I didn't want to show up empty handed so I waited to post until I finished something that could be seen with human eyes. I've been working on a post DH piece for months and it's still not quite done yet cause it just keeps growing! So I flipped open my "scraps" file and rifled for something that I couldn't let go of and was able to finish in a timely manner.

Title: Blood
Author:  [info]phnxfeather47
Rating: PG13
Genre: Romance
Word Count: 774
AN: Centuries ago the lovely and uber talented  [info]lillywmw   said that the point to a Body Heat sequel is that it's a challenge, which of course got me psyched because who doesn't love a challenge? Well a while after that I was painting my nails one night when I drop spilled on my make up mirror drying to look like blood. Suddendly I had an maybe idea. The plot never panned out to a full fledged fic, but it was something I never forgot or could let go of. So I DH-cannonized it and now it's a semi sequel as well as a semi missing moment from Shell Cottage. It's unbetaed so excuse any mistakes as they are all mine. But please enjoy (especially you, Lilly)!!

Well it's been a while since I put out a few icons but I figured that I'd better put something over my lovely freak out rant before y'all all figured I was major pyscho, ha. Classes start up again really soon (note the non excitement) which means less ficness in my future. *sad face*

Michael Vartan is criminally goodlooking:

01. 02. 03. 04.

The first one still makes me giggle everytime I look at it. One of those pause moment's that you can't pass up. And number two's text "righteously" is from Lucinda William's song playing during that screencap. Good song, worth checking out. Finally, three and four - one of the sweetest alias kisses ever.

I'd bow to JKR:

Title: He Wasn’t
Word Count: 11,504 – a “little” one parter
Ship: Ron/Hermione, who else?
Rating: R-ish because I always thought HP need a little cursing
Disclaimer: JKR has given us seven books of PHENOMENAL writing. She is an inspiration – showing how a pen, some paper, and imagination can change the world. It’s bittersweet to see that HP has come to an end… even though that will never ever really be true. I’m thankful to be given the chance to play in this wonderful realm that she has created. And…God bless her for giving the women of the world Ron Weasley.
Beta:  I feel as if I should a great big I’m-not-worthy bow to the two lovely ladies that are loverlydaisy520 and queenb23. Amazing doesn’t even begin to cover it. To the always wonderful queenb for her lightening fast, Speedy Gonzales betaing skills - thank you for your tireless effort and for stretching my mind about a certain two-colored named girl. And to the forever sweet loverlydaisy for her unwavering support and extensive beta work - thanks so much for the laughter, for being my ear to run things by, and for helping to work out all the little “loot poles” in the story. In short: y’all rock!
AN: There have been many ideas surrounding what exactly happened to R/H on the night of Slughorn’s Christmas party, but only JK knows for sure. I started writing this roughly eleven months ago and it’s come a long way since then. The plot’s a bit of a stretch, and I even almost scraped it once but couldn’t bear to let the idea go. I continue to be astounded by the energy, encouragement, and sheer kindness I find in the HP community. I truly hope y’all enjoy reading.
Excerpt: He wasn’t. – He wasn’t supposed to be there. He wasn’t supposed to be looking at her so utterly concerned. He wasn’t supposed to be her protector. He wasn’t supposed to be drying the tears that he hadn’t caused. He wasn’t supposed to be drying the ones that he had. – He wasn’t.” // an HBP missing moment, the night of Slughorn’s Christmas party…

So last night and tonight I've made a few changes on here. The super nice msmoocoo was going to do a header a somepoint but we both got lost in life and never finished communicating Then, I was looking at myspace layouts forever ago and saw the railroad and new that's what I wanted. I don't know why... I'm not overly fond of trains or railroad tracks or anything. Haha, then I was inspired to copy the look of the text on a Panic! of the disco tshirt I have. And a few fustrating hours later, woalah! ;)

Now, how about a coupla icons? As usual, a lot of these have been done for a while but I just never got around to putting them up.

Randomness:

Summer of HP has begun:
I think I'm hooked on doing Weasley Wizard Wheezes now. I was looking at a vintage poster website of all things when I got the random idea to do a Wheeze icon about it. Whiz-Bang was first and I have to say I'm pretty damn proud of it. U-No-Poo isn't quite as vintage as I would have liked, I might come back and play with it later. Anyway, I want to do their whole product line now. But, so far those two took me forevvvver.

Title: An Endless Moment
Word Count: 289
Prompt: CM's ribbon

If anyone would have walked into the room at that moment, they would have surely thought they’d gone mad. Maybe they had. Spending sixth months hunting down bits of the darkest wizard’s soul could do that to a person.

They laid there, flat on their backs and so close that their shoulders were touching, in the middle of the Burrow’s den floor. Four pairs of eyes - two brown, one green, one blue – flickered idly from the wispy fire and an endlessly tall but crooked Christmas tree. The white fairy lights made the handmade ornaments shimmer as if they had been sprinkled with stardust. The flames under the hearth warmed their bodies as well as their souls.

He squeezed her hand that was encased in his, and from his peripheral vision he saw her holly berry lips form a small smile. From his left, his sister’s lively laughter echoed across the old, wooden floorboards. He figured that staying behind was just as hard as leaving because no one had said anything funny… actually no one had said anything at all. But, Ginny’s laughter was infectious and soon they were all laughing until their sides ached from overexertion. They hadn’t much time to use those particular muscles lately.

Yes, they were positively mad.

Or, maybe, they were just happy. Sucking in a gulp of air, Ron wished that this Christmas Eve would never end. He didn’t want to have to move, he didn’t want think. He simply wanted to live in this endless moment.

Even if they didn’t make it through the rest of this war, he’d always remembered this night, and the feel of her hair brushing against his neck like chocolate and caramel ribbons cascading across his skin.

Title: Normalcy of a Simple Dinner
Word Count: 288
Prompt: CM's thankful

You see her pause for a fraction of a second in her movements before… “Fred, George, one more unnecessary remark about your sister, and you will suffer the consequences!”

Although she hasn’t laid out what exactly the consequences are, you listen as they chorus, “Yes, Mum.” They smile sweetly at Fleur as they say this, just before George jabs Fred in the ribs with a grin as the blonde continues to look adoringly at her new husband. Bill glances at them before commenting dryly that they need girlfriends.

Meanwhile, heaps and heaps of food litter the Burrow’s long kitchen table. Hands are reaching, grasping, and passing so fast that you can’t help but watch the food vanish like the end of your first Hogwarts’ Welcoming Feast. Her hand wraps its way around yours as it lay next to your overflowing plate. Seated next to a pristine and quiet Percy, Charlie gives you a wink from across the table and makes what Mrs. Weasley would call another ‘unnecessary remark.’ She laughs at your embarrassment.

At the head of the table, Mr. Weasley engages your second favorite female in yet another discussion about all things Muggle. For a moment you watch them in amusement that any two people could be that engaged over a ball point pen.

All the while, you feel him fidgeting next to you. It’s a habit of his that’s increased recently whenever aforementioned female is in the room. “Ron, Hermione’s foot is to your left if you’re wondering,” you say through a smirk. There is a collective pause as eleven pairs of eyes dart around the table before the room breaks out in roguish laughter, turning his ears instantly scarlet.

Satisfied, you tuck into your meal.

In that Moment, She Burned
Word Count: 109
Prompt: a really old LJ for candle which I never submitted, and CM's burn

She felt his cobalt eyes look up at her from where she was seated next to the chessboard he supposedly was engrossed in. She expected him to comment on her choice of reading, but he didn’t. His gaze lingered and a fire ignited within her. In her mind’s eye, Hermione saw herself as a candle and he the flame, slowly melting her from the wick on top of her head to the base at the tips of her toes. Then, he turned away, and she was abruptly doused. She shivered at the loss of heat until she felt a freckled hand brush against her knee, handing her a blanket.

Since this is a slow week for school, I'm trying to be active on here and not let it sit in the dust until I have a fic and/or icon to post. But, speaking of icons, I made this one after I had some very delicious strawberries last week. Yum, I love strawberries. Then today I had my first crawfish of the year which made me very happy. Crawfish, spicy potatoes, corn, and onions.... sounds like a good dinner to me!

Also, because this couldn't not be addressed.... being a college student myself, the Virgina Tech shooting hit close.  In one of my classes today, our teacher was talking about if the college I go to would be prepared for that type of crisis. Sitting in the large, open lecture hall surrounded by hundreds of other students, my pulse quickened. It was a horrible and senseless massacre and my heart and prayers go out to any and all who were affected.

Heeeee!! Being the spaz the I am, I was completely struck by inspiration tonight (from the most random source ever) for a maybe sequel for Body Heat. It started off as a long drabble in my head that I was planning to just post here for the hell of it. Then, half way through writing the drabble a few words I wanted to write would fit to be the sequel. So... I'm still toying with the idea, and it'd only be a part of what the sequel would be, but it's a start. And, I'm so completely excited about it because as lilywmw (the LJ user linking thing is being mean to me) mentioned the point of the sequel would be that it would be a challenge. <-- Did that sentence even make sense? Anyway, sorry for being all cloak and dagger (haha) but I don't want to reveal anything. Let's hope that the muse continues to be nice. Also, all of this will be a long time from now because I still have another one parter that I'm finishing before starting real work on a sequel but as of right I'm like 90-95% sure I will do one. I'm just nervous that it'd flop like most movie sequels and couldn't compare to the orginal. Ah, paranoia is wonderful huh?

ps - the song I'm listening to is like the vaguest hint possible. Tiny, miniscule hint
pss- do you how extremely hard it is to restrain from writing y'all every two seconds when writing fanfic haha.

Warnings: from the wonderful readers at CM – known to make you almost burn dinner in addition to make you tear up and/or cry

Beta: Infinite thanks to the completely sweet and clever loverlydaisy520 who gives me way too much credit. In my opinion, you are the best beta someone could ever ask for. Thank you for your kind encouragement and for truly making me think about what I’m writing.

PreBeta: Thanks to the wonderfully kind queenb23 who has once again helped fight the war against grammar and other spelling mishaps.

AN: After being absolutely astonished at the wonderful feedback I’ve gotten from my first story, this is my second go at an R/Hr one parter. Although I don’t view this as a prequel to Self-Restraint it could be if you really wanted it to. Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoy!

PS: I couldn’t help but include another little dash of Alias into the mix.

Excerpt:

“If you want to do something drastic to help Hermione, then start undressing.”

“What?” Ron questioned. His cobalt eyes were abnormally large and a bit fearful.

“To get her warm,” Harry explained simply. “You’ll both need to be starkers and together in something where the heat can’t escape. I think a sleeping bag put in front the fire would do.”

The expression on Ron’s face looked as if he had swallowed a handful of Cornish pixies. “What the bloody hell kind of nutter Muggle practice is that?!” He yelped with his voice unnaturally high and squeaky.

“It’s not nutters. It’s a transfer of body heat, and people do it all the time.”

Well, belovedgrangers comment that she liked one of the earlier Alias icons made me so excited that I got the creative itch again. Oh, I just got finished watching Mission Impossible 3 (I've never seen 1 or 2) and in case they hadn't advertised it enough, JJ Abrams (creater of Alias) was one of the writers for the movie. Well, after two and half minutes in I starting playing spot the Alias. It was a good movie but I was just like wow. Anywhoo...... I digress.

01.   02.   03.

04.   05.   06.

02, 03, 04 (hehe) came from screen caps from Alias Media. 06 (my fav because MV is too goregeous for his own good) is from a screen cap from Two Evil Monks. Also, 05 sounds a little wrong but I mean it in a completely innocent way. Think cliffie of season 1 and beginning of season 2... Vaughn says that the screw driver is the best invention in 2000 years (or somehting along those lines) but that was a little too long to fit.

Okay, I'm done rambling now....
